Boogie Woogie Broadway

My wee ones started out by looking at a print of Piet Mondrian's "Boogie Woogie Broadway."  They talked about what they saw and what they imagined they saw.  Then, they watched a short video featuring the artwork.  It was on a dvd by Baby Einstein.  The painting morphed into lego like objects and people walking around city streets.  We then talked about what we saw in the video.

Students then painted whatever they liked based on Mondrian's work.  There were all sorts of interpretations.
